It's beginning to look a lot like Trello
And time to start planning for all that holiday gift giving fun! Thankfully Trello has you covered.
I feel like I always start these newsletters by describing where I am in the world, is that interesting to anyone? It’s typically just because I can’t think of a better opener. Maybe I’ll have to get ChatGPT to help me with that.
For now you’ll just have to know that I’m writing this from the Dallas airport, but I will hopefully be safely back in Baton Rouge by the time this hits your inbox.

💡 Use Case Idea
It’s almost holiday shopping time again for those who participate. I’ve shared this before but we have wayyyy more users than the last time I shared it, and even if you already know, here’s a good reminder.
I use Trello every year to organize my holiday shopping and keep track of who I’ve bought for and who I still need to buy for. Each card represents a person and each list represents a stage of the gift shopping experience, from to do to wrapped and ready to deliver!
I use the card descriptions and card attachments to keep track of any items I come across that I think I might want to get, and then when I’m ready, I pick my favorite. This works especially well if you have a partner you shop for gifts with because you can share your ideas in there and assign an owner to pick something. (And yes you can use due dates too!)
You can use Amazing Fields or Custom Fields to keep track of budget vs. actual spend on items as well.
(This also pairs well with the Package Tracker Power-Up… but I won’t steal my own thunder. I’ll talk about that in the next section.)
If you’re a premium subscriber, you can copy this template and start using right away!
Not a premium subscriber yet? Well, that’s an easy fix! Click here, and you’ll get access to my premium templates and a monthly Trello AMA session with yours truly!
⚡️ Featured Power-Up
The Package Tracker Power-Up does exactly what it says… it tracks your packages! you’ll just put in your package tracking details, and your Trello card will keep up with the status for you!
You can even see status and estimated shipping dates from the card front, without even going into the card.
Of course this is really useful during the holidays when I’m shopping for gifts, but it’s also useful for businesses that handle physical goods and receive and/or ship them. It’s even useful for coordinating when you’re deliver orders and swag to your customers! (Speaking of which, if you want a PixieBrix t-shirt, reply back to this email and I’ll take care of you. Sorry I don’t have any extra Trello ones at the moment 😂)
Special shoutout to my premium sponsors!
