🌮 Dear Taco
This is a section where readers can submit their Trello questions, and each week I’ll pick one and answer it! It’s like “Dear Abby” but make it Trello. Have a question you want to submit? Share it here.
Dear Taco,
Can you set up recurring alerts ⚠️ for tasks which are assigned to a specific person? We have rotating tasks (daily, monthly, weekly) and it would be nice to alert only the individual assigned at that time. Recently enabled the Card Repeater PowerUp by Zapier.

Dear Erin,
There are many ways you can accomplish this and it seems like you’ve found one way, but I prefer another way that has more control - like adding members and due dates! While you can use the Card Repeater Power-Up (actually by Trello and not Zapier), I prefer to use Trello Automation.
Head to Automation in your board’s toolbar, and then click “Rules”, and then on the left side click “Calendar”, then click the blue button that says “Create Command”. From there, click “Add Trigger”, and select the frequency you want, like every Monday, every week, etc. by clicking the blue plus button.
Then, just fill out your card details in the next box that appears. You can fill in the title, specify the list you want it to be in, click the person icon to assign a member to it, and click the calendar to assign a due date!
And now you have a custom recurring card that will pop up in that frequency, assigned to the correct person!
Want to submit your question? Maybe it’ll be featured next week!

🛟 How To and FAQs
💡 Use Case Idea
I find a lot of articles I want to read, books and tv shows that are recommended to me, and just in general a lot of content that I want to remember. I use Trello (shocking I know) to keep track of all those things. I have lists for the different types of mediums (books, articles, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.)
And then when I’m waiting in line and bored, I scroll through the articles, or when it’s a Saturday night and I don’t know what to do to relax, I go through my tv shows!
