New Format for the How I Trello Newsletter
A little of this, a little of that, a much faster read. What do you think?
Hi all!
I’m working on a new format for this newsletter/blog. I like to share a lot of things, and I want to be more organized about it. I’ll still have some feature pieces that are solely based on one use case, but I’m going to do weekly digests that are broken into three parts:
Helpful Trello tip
New deep dive content/what’s coming
Trello links around the web
Other tools I’ve discovered
The goal is it to be a little more digestable than a sit down and learn more than I maybe ever wanted to know about this very specific use case (but don’t worry — we’ll still have that around, too and I’ll reference those pieces in here!)
Let me know what you think about this format, and if you hate it, we’ll try something else! Just reply back to the email or comment on this post to give it a 👍 or 👎.
Without further ado, here’s the first installment!
Trello Tip of the Week
Hover over a card and press the space button to join the card and add yourself as a member!
Deep Dive/Upcoming
I need a better name for this section, but this will basically be “oh hey here’s what I’m working on and doing with Trello at the moment if you want to join along”.
I’m planning to host a Trello happy hour! Picture an hour of hanging out, nerding about our favorite Trello things, sharing stories… so lovely, eh? I’ve never done one of these before so I’m actually not sure what it’s going to be like, but if you’ve seen my videos on YouTube, you know it’s going to be a good time.
Feel free to bring any questions you have about Trello and I’m happy to answer them, or I’ll just share some of my favorite tips and my newest recipe for a Trello-themed beverage. (TBD on that one, but I’ve got some blue curacao syrup so I’m quite sure I’ll make something happen.)
If you want to participate, just fill out this quick survey (literally just one question) so I can try to pick a time that works best for folks!
I’ll send an email next week with the day and time and a zoom link!

I know you signed up because Trello, but most of you (I assume) are also into productivity and organization, so I’m going to include this section at the end to mention other tools I’ve found and how I’m using them!
This week I’ve started using Pull the Rope — it’s a chrome extension that let’s you set reminders by dragging a rope to set the amount of time, then you can add a note! For some reason I find Apple Reminders to just be too much work to select a date and then time, and I think i like this interface a lot better, so I’m giving it a try!
Don’t forget to reply back to this email or add a comment below letting me know what you think about this format!
A basic how to use Trello course would be helpful.
