Scheduling Trello Comments, Slack + Trello, and Follow My Content Calendar!
I figured out how to schedule comments in Trello and I'm STOKED. 🎉
Trello Tip
Trello has a Slack Power-Up that lets you connect your Trello boards with your Slack workspace. This is a great way to send notifications about cards to a specific channel. Super helpful is you’re working with some folks who aren’t as used to Trello yet and need some reminders. It will post messages in your Slack channel, like this!
You can set what types of activities trigger these notifications and it will do it all the time, or you can use the card button to send a specific type of notification.

Scheduling Comments in Trello with PixieBrix and Zapier
I’m super excited about this one. I couldn’t fall asleep the other night because I was like “I wonder if there’s a way to schedule comments in Trello”. You know, like how you can schedule Slack messages and emails these days, what if you could do that with Trello comments so you didn’t have to ping your teammates at those weird hours of the night when you feel inspired to get work done? 😊 (Just me?)
Anyways, it’s for sure do-able and it requires PixieBrix and Zapier, but since I’ve figured it out for you already, it’s very easy to set up. Watch this video to see how to do it, and you can copy my extensions here. NOTE: PixieBrix is free, but I do think this requires a paid version of Zapier since we’re using a zap with multiple steps. If you’re not already using Zapier, it’s probably not worth $29/mo for this functionality, but if you are already using Zapier, definitely a good reason to consider an upgrade!

Goosly
If you’re struggling to keep track of when I’m doing a live stream, when I’ve got a new newsletter coming, when I’m giving a talk… don’t worry—I’m struggling too 😂. I just started using Goosly, which is a public roadmap tool, so you can follow along too!
It looks like this:
Before you ask, yes I totally could put this in a Trello board, but I actually kind liked being able to show the calendar view out of the box with no clicks needed from the viewer (honestly, can’t really do that with Trello on a public board… at least not that I know of!)
Here’s how it works.
Define groups (notice I have “Newsletter”, “Speaking”, “Livestream”, etc.)
Add “activity” (in my case, events)
You can use markdown to style each activity to give details.
Want to see my board? Head over here. Soon you’ll be able to click “subscribe” and be notified when there’s a new event. (Speaking of which… that reminds me I’m due for a live stream soon… anybody got any requests of what I should talk about??)
👋 See you next week!
