You’re used to the basic list views in Trello, but did you know you can spice them up a bit? Hopefully you’ve noticed a few other views from the other posts this month, like Jodi’s discussion about Calendar View. But today Craig introduces us to a whole new view I’d never even heard about… it’s Maxtrix view!
If you’ve ever wanted to see how your cards all fit together in a quadrant based on two variables, this is the Power-Up you need. In the free version, you can get an idea of the functionality and set values like “Impact” and “Likelihood”.
Here’s an example of how some cards on my board might look when I add the matrix values.
Admittedly, I don’t know that I find the default matrix super useful to me, and I think if I were going to use this, I’d prefer the pro version where I can customize the axis and values.
I’d probably want to use the Eisenhower Matrix (one axis is level of importance, and one axis is level of urgency). It’s a really common productivity method to help you ensure you’re working on important things and not just urgent things! (Neglecting important things eventually does become urgent and we don’t want that!)
How might you visualize your boards in Matrix view?
