Using Trello to Plan an Event
I'm planning an upcoming virtual event, and here's how Trello is making my life easier
I’m busy and have a lot of things I need to accomplish. I’m also a perfectionist and hate when things fall through the cracks. That’s why Trello keeps me sane 😎
This past week I used Trello for organizing an upcoming virtual event for Crmble.
If you don’t want to keep reading and just want to copy my template, here ya go.
I started out in a Google doc and then was like… why am I doing this? So I made a Trello board with a list for referencing all the things I’d need, and then a typically Kanban layout (To Do / Doing / Done) with a card for each task I needed.
The first list is mostly just to reference any key pieces and logistics. Are you ever planning something and get tired of remembering what’s the URL for that landing page? Or what time did you decide on? Or where’s the Zoom link? Or images for ads?
Then I created a card under “To Do” for all the key tasks that you’re likely to have to tackle up until the event.
If you’re planning a virtual event, these cards should all be pretty similar aligned to what you’re needing. You might need to tweak a few things based on your event, but I’ve got cards related to defining content, building a landing page, event promo checklist, and more. Feel free to use it if you’ve got an upcoming event planned and don’t want to start from scratch.
So there ya go. That’s what I’m Trello-ing this week. I’ll share more next week :)
