🌮 Dear Taco
This is a section where readers can submit their Trello questions, and each week I’ll pick one and answer it! It’s like “Dear Abby” but make it trello. Have a question you want to submit? Share it here.
A question for you.
I`m using startdate and duedate on my cards and I would like to move a card to another board when duedate has past with 12 months but can´t find a way to make it happen.
Do you have a solution for that?
I just got this question from a reader, but I’ve also had a few others ask me lately about how to “keep but also get rid of” done cards. I thought it would be relevant to address these here, and it actually inspired me to make a video about it.
First of all, remember that any archived cards are always accessible from your board menu (click the three dots in the top right, and you can see Archived Items. You can view cards there or send them back to your board).
Second of all, I like to have a specific list or board for my “Collected Done” cards so that I can go back and reflect on them.
(Do I ever actually go back and do that? No…But that’s besides the point!!)
You can set up automation to move your cards there in a few different ways. It could be after you move them to list….
… or once a week, move all the cards in your This Week Done List to your All Done List.
… or like this reader asked, one year after it’s due, move it to another board!
If you want to watch, I made a video walking through how to set each one of these up.
Want to submit your question? Maybe it’ll be featured next week!
💡 Inspiration and ideas
This section is getting a glow-up. You’ve told me you love the templates, so now I want to double down—but only if they’re actually useful (and not just me nerding out about Trello in a vacuum).
Help me make better, more helpful templates by taking 2 minutes to answer a quick survey. It’s short, sweet, and will directly shape what I build next—for you.
👉 Take the survey now — you’ll be done before your coffee cools. I’m giving away a $20 Amazon gift card to a lucky winner who fills it out by the end of the week, so knock it out before jumping to that next email.
🍷Finally… collapsing checklists on your cards!
You’ve been asking for it, and I finally delivered! Who knew building Chrome Extensions is easier than Power-Up 😂
My latest Trello Chrome Extension allows you to collapse/expand individual checklists or ALL checklists on your Trello cards!
Free to use, easy to install… only works on Chrome/Chromium based browsers. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Special shoutout to my premium sponsors!
