Special thanks to everyone who joined me last week for my Product Hunt launch and my talk at JiraCon! Had a blast and it was an eventful day. Oh and welcome to all the news folks that have joined us from that launch! Super glad to have you here!
Now back to our normally scheduled Trello programming.

New(s) and Upcoming in Trello
A new Trello consultant has emerged! Allen Bierbaum (founder of Amazing Fields) is now offering Trello consulting to help folks create custom solutions in their Trello boards! If you’re looking for some help with your Trello boards (and I know a lot of you are and I hate that I’ve had to turn you away), reach out to Allen.
Speaking of the Amazing Fields Power-Up… some new updates just dropped, including markdown support in multi-line text fields, set default values for formulas, improved onboarding, increase in speed, bug fixes, and more!
I’m going to be launching a course on Maven all about Trello automation! Stay tuned for more details, but it’s likely going to be something along the lines of “How Small Business Owners Can Automate Things In Trello So They Spend Less Time Organizing Their Business And More Time Growing It”… or hopefully something a little shorter :).
PS - If you’re a paid subscriber, you’ll be getting another message TOMORROW with a survey that you can fill out to have a say in the content of the course. If you’ve ever wished to have someone build a custom course tailed for your - here’s your chance! Become a paid sub by the end of the day if you want to be included in this!

Use Case Idea
Everyone has a podcast these days! And in fact, I’m actually thinking about starting one myself. But it’s a lot of work, so you know I’ll be using Trello to automate and organize as much of it as possible.
I’ll share my own template once it’s made, but here’s a good one that follows the structure of what I’m already thinking.
Have a list for organizing resources and links, then create a list for each stage of the process you go through.
I’m probably going to make my lists something like this:
Admin/To Do Tasks
Episode Ideas
Ready to Record
Editing
Published and Ready to Promote
Not into podcasts? You can totally use Trello for any sort of content you create, whether it’s written (like blog posts and newsletters) or video, or… anything else! Just make a list for each stage your content goes through from idea to published, and then you can have one home for all your ideas.
If you want to get fancy, you can add automation to add specific checklists to cards when they make it to certain lists (like a post-editing checklist for videos), or assign due dates (due in two weeks when a card is added to the “up next” list), or even integrate it with Zapier to send a tweet when you move a card to your “published” list.
Feedback/Poll
This one’s a quick one! Do you use Power-Ups in Trello? (Just click your answer to cast your vote!)
That’s all for this week! Remember - if you’re a business owner and want to automate your workflows, upgrade to the paid tier of this newsletter by the end of the day, and tomorrow you’ll get an email to share what you’d want to see in the course so I can build it!
(You’ll also get some other great perks - I’m about to start hosting monthly AMAs with paid subscribers, so if you want some group Trello coaching that’s a great way to get your questions answered!)
