🖇️ Card links seem to be getting a facelift
📧 Now you can actually customize email notifications
🛍️ One global shopping cart… in Trello!
🌮 Dear Taco
This is a section where readers can submit their Trello questions, and each week I’ll pick one and answer it! It’s like “Dear Abby” but make it trello. Have a question you want to submit? Share it here.
I recently linked a whole bunch of cards in a description on another card, and they showed the labels on the linked cards! Super helpful. However, my coworkers don't see what I see, they just see the linked cards without the labels. Why can't they see them?

Dear Alyssa,
Thanks for writing! When I first saw this question, I thought there was some sort of permissions issue, and then I looked closely at the screenshot you sent, and lo and behold, I think we might have a new feature on our hands!
I’ve never seen this when I paste a card, and I just tried to replicate it and see if I could see it now and I can’t!
So I think there’s probably nothing wrong with your coworkers; you’re just special and getting access to a feature Trello is testing! I’m confirming with my inside sources to see if that’s true and what’s really going on here, but it seems like the rest of us (including your coworkers) will probably see views like this shortly!
Want to submit your question? Maybe it’ll be featured next week!
🗞 New(s) And Upcoming
💌 Customize your email notifications! Previously, Trello email notifications were pretty binary. They were either on with alerts for everything, or off with nothing. If you want notifications about specific activities, you’d need to build automation to email yourself when that action happens. But now it’s much simpler… simply check the boxes for your desired notifications. Learn more in this video.
Atlassian is hosting a challenge for transforming your work habits! It includes Trello, and the prizes are swag. Do I need to say more? 😂 Learn more in this post.
Reports by Blue Cat now have over 50,000 installs! Check it out. They just released a quick overview video if you want to learn more about it! I’ve started playing around with them more and will be reviewing Trello reporting power-ups soon!
🛟 How To and FAQs
How to get a snapshot of all your assigned items emailed each day
Hide the Watch button from the card details. Have you seen the Watch button that now shows up underneath a card title? I’m sure it’s helpful for folks who don’t know about watching cards or use that often. But for me, I thought it kinda cluttered the card. So I used my PixieBrix skills and made a mod that hides it. If you’d prefer not to see it, activate this mod, and your cards will magically 🪄 go back to normal!
💡 Use Case Idea
Use Trello as your online shopping cart!
I try to avoid impulse buying as much as I can, and Trello is the best way to give me that dopamine hit of buying something without spending any money.
Check out this board. It’s my online shopping cart. Whenever I come across an item on my phone or computer, I send that link to this Trello board.
I get the same dopamine as if I were buying the thing and adding it to a virtual cart, but I don’t actually spend the money. And once a week (or when I feel like it), I sort through this list and see what I want to buy!
I have an “inbox” list that everything comes into, and I sort by different categories to help me differentiate.
Thanks for joining this week, and I can’t wait to see you all next week!
Hi! First time reader here. Using Trello for an online shopping cart is brilliant! That could expand to holidays, birthdays, etc.
I’m using Trello as a solo consultant now. What’s the best way to get up to speed on using the platform [like a quasi] pro??
