Export custom fields, last activity, comments, and more from Trello
I’m sending this from sunny Ireland! Ha, jk it’s actually raining at this very moment. But still a lovely place!
Trello Tip
Need get your Trello board in CSV format? You can easily export by going to Show Menu, “More”, and then selecting export! It will export even more than what you can see in the Table view of Trello. For instance, it includes the values of any custom fields on a card, the date of the last activity, any links attached to a card, the number of comments or votes on a card, and how many checklist items there are vs how many completed checklist items there are.
In my opinion, it’s much more comprehensive than table view, but just depends what you’re looking for!
New(s)/upcoming in Trello
I’m going live on Product Hunt next Thursday! I’ll be launching a Trello Tip generator (yep, exactly what you imagine, click a button and get a new trello tip!) and inviting more folks to join this lovely newsletter. I’d be thrilled to have your support, so I’ll be sending a reminder on Thursday, Sep 29th when we’re live, but you can sign up for a reminder on the upcoming page.
Learn about Trello and Jira in my talk next week at JiraCon! Use code JOINER10 to get 10% off (but don’t worry - tickets are like $29, so it’s not like it will cost you an arm and a leg to join!)
In case you missed it last week, Trello introduced 20 new label colors!
Rokanban update! Rokanban is a Roku app letting you view and interact with your Trello boards on your tv!

Use Case Idea
How often have we all caught up with someone that we haven’t talked to in years, and thought, “Man that was great, we should keep in touch!” But then life just keeps going and we forget? Happens to me quite a bit. So of course I decided to find a way to use Trello to help :)
I wrote up a detailed post on how to use trello to keep in touch, but you can also watch the video below!
TLDR - add contacts and the frequency you want to keep in touch, add a couple rules, and then you’ll automatically get a queue each day of people to reach out to and avoid any duplicates!
Let me know if you have more ideas or anything else you’d like to see in it, and I’m happy to build it!
That’s all for this week! Next Thursday is a big day, so come join me on Product Hunt and at JiraCon! See you there!
